Rather we’re going walk through the steps and get familiar with some free tools to help you create meaningful content. Whether it’s a blog post, a podcast, or an online course — if it’s not something people want to consume, all the keyword research in the world won’t help.

The Buyer’s journey

Problem Aware

Example — back pain.
They know they have a problem
They need to know solutions like yours exist.
How to connect — Empathy, show them you get their pain.

Solution Aware

Example — yoga for back pain.
They now know solutions like yours exist..
They need to know how your solution solves their pain.
How to connect — Show them how your solution works.

Product Aware

Example — Yael’s yoga program for back pain.
They now know your solution solves their problem.
They need to know if your solution is the best one for them
How to connect — Demonstrate how your solution is their best option for them.

Most Aware

Example — Yael’s yoga program for back pain.
They need to know how much it cost
They know your solution is the best for them.
How to connect — Give them the details. Cost, how to register, how to purchase, etc.

Topical Research

  • Quora
  • Ask the Public
  • Google
  • Amazon Reviews
  • You Tube

Search Intent

Google is great at helping you understand search intent.  Tie search intent with the buyer’s journey to create focused content that people want to consume.

Suzanne asked about Ask the Public, if there were any indication of search volume.  From Ask the Public documentation:

The green dots are an indicator of the popularity of search terms within each question branch at the time the report was run. To be clear popularity does not always = highest search volume. Low volume but new trending relevant terms can appear higher than high volume terms.
i.e. Both Common and Trending keywords are part of autocomplete data. Which is what we use to generate our reports.

Darker Green = More Popular.

Ask the Public Premium is $99 / per month. Might be worth using incongito mode in your browser to gain a few more searches per day 🙂
