This is such a fluid question. Sort of like asking how much a car will cost. Obviously, it depends on the type of car, which features you want, new or old, etc.
Same for a website. The cost depends on a number of variables, such as the size of the site, advanced functionality requirements (e-commerce, membership, etc.) and design complexity.
My projects generally start in the $5,000 range and go up from there depending on your requirements.

I accept checks and online credit card payments via Stripe. Invoicing is done with ZipBooks.
I take a slightly different approach when creating custom web designs. I use style tiles and live prototype wire-frames rather than full site mock-ups in Photoshop.
A style tile is a single page collection of common elements for your website that include colors, typography, textures, patterns and design features. They aren’t a literal representation of how the site will look; instead, they set the visual tone for a site
I then create a live prototype wire-frame to define the structure and content blocks for your site. Once we’ve chosen a style tile and defined the structure and content blocks of your site via the live prototype, we “marry” the two — meaning, we integrate the design and mood of the style tile into the prototype.
For new sites, I highly recommend the complete process for the most optimal results.
However, you may already have a well-designed site and great copy but need some SEO work.
Or you may be a great writer and already have a super clear and compelling message but need web design and SEO work.

I provide premium hosting and maintenance for clients.
I provide 21 days email support after site launch. Follow up support is available as needed, billed at $125 per hour in 15 minute incrimements.
I recommend Hover to register and manage domains. They also provide email services. Their customer service is quick and responsive and the prices are competitive.
I recently listened to Matt Mullenweg (creator of WordPress) give, in my opinion, the best and most succinct answer to this question in a podcast interview in 2021.
Also consider in 2023, WordPress accounts for 43% of all websites on the world wide web.
It’s a platform that can be as simple or as complex as you need and because of the wealth of plugins available, it can grow with you.

This is your first website and you have no idea where to begin; you have a website but aren’t happy with it; or your website’s working for you but you want to improve or add something new.
I know, this can be really scary, even downright overwhelming. If this is your “first rodeo” like many of my clients, you know next to nothing about what it takes to build a website. More important, what it takes build a website that supports you and helps your business grow.

This is by far my least favorite story because it usually means someone shelled out a wad of cash and didn’t get much in return.
You can throw together a website in a few days now with the many crappy page builders out there (think Wix, Weebly or some fresh new “designer who recently learned how to use Divi!), but there are often some unpleasant outcomes:
- A hammer does not make one a carpenter just as a drag and drop page builder does not make one a designer.
- A pretty brochure website with no real branding or message will get you ABSOLUTELY nowhere.
- A pretty website doesn’t sell; connecting in an authentic way to your ideal client and showing them you get them does.
If this is you, the type of project will depend on the condition of your existing website. It may be that we need to start from the beginning and build from the foundation up. I mean, why keep building on a faulty foundation?
Or we may only need to work on your story and write new copy.
